Abstract

25,363. Railing, M., and Taylor, T. Nov. 6. Couplings. - Relates to means for ensuring electrical continuity between electric conduits and fittings such as elbows, tees, &c. According to the invention, holes are drilled through lugs B on the fittings C so as to break through the inner wall thereof. The holes are counterbored or recessed, as shown at D, for part of their length, the remaining part being tapped to receive a screw. When the head F of the screw is just entering the recess D, the conduit G may be readily inserted into the fitting C; upon tightening up, the head F binds on to the tube G with a scraping or cutting action and makes good electrical contact.
