Abstract

Couplings.-For ensuring electric continuity and mechanical connexion between conduit tubing and fittings such as tees, bends, &c., the fitting, which is shown as an elbow A in Fig. 2, is formed with plain side lugs B drilled and tapped throughout their thickness and furnished with tangential screws C, under the heads E of which plain or serrated washers G may be placed, openings D being formed in the fitting above the lugs. When the conduit tubes F are in position, the screws are tightened so that the heads of the screws or the washers G partially enter the openings and engage the conduit, scraping or cutting into the tube to ensure good electrical contact between the parts.
