Hydrogenated organic compounds, catalytic production of.-Ethane is prepared quantitatively from mixtures of ethylene and hydrogen by passing the gases first at ordinary pressure over a catalytic agent and effecting an incomplete combination, and then passing the gases under increased pressure over a catalytic agent to complete the combination.
