Abstract
22,772. Meyer, A. H. Oct. 9. Embroidering machines. - A loop stitch for embroidery machines is made by two threads, a top thread 5 carried by a needle 2, and a rear thread 17 carried by n looper 3 actuated by a cam 11. With the looper works a loop-taker 4 actuated by gearing 22, 23. The stitch is formed by the needle 2 carrying a loop through the material, the loop then being entered by the looper 3 passing down through the stitch plate 21. The loop-taker then enters and holds the loop of the rear thread 17 and the thread 5 is then drawn up. After feed, the needle 2 again enters the fabric, and as soon as the loop-taker catches the next loop of the thread 17, it releases the first loop around the second. The stitch so formed lias one front and three rear threads.
