Abstract

Ceiling-roses. - Ceiling-roses are constructed so as to protect the bared conductor ends from the corrosive action of the atmosphere, particularly in bad situations, by providing a U- shaped or sinuous path through which the conductors are led into the rose from the exposed position outside, the path being adapted to receive a liquid or molten sealing compound which will effectively close the self-contained rose. As shown in Fig. 1, the U-shaped path 13 is constituted by the walls 12 of the detachable cover and the depending walls 5 of the body of the rose. The body may be divided into separate compartments for the various connexions 2, for instance by radial partitions dipping down into the sealing compound. The cover 12 is adapted to be screwed on to the boss 6 of the body, and, to protect the sealing- compound, an overhanging flange 11 is provided on the body.
