Abstract
17,740. Parkes, W. Aug. 2. Revolving-cylincler pumps; stroke, varying.-The cylinders C of a revolving-cylinder pump are made double-acting and the pistons D are reciprocated by means of two disks B, B', one of which is held at the desired inclination by a handle A and sector L while the other is held parallel to the first by the pump pistons D. The disks are hinged to the pump casing at F, while the cylinders C rotate with the shaft E within the casing. The end of the shaft E fits over a fixed valve stem G and acts as a valve for admitting fluid to the ends of the cylinders.
