Abstract

Turn-bolt door fastenings.-The fastening has a rotating latch c which is secured in the open position by a tooth a' on a pivoted latch a and a tooth e<2> on a lever e operatively connected with a second pivoted latch b. In closing the door, inclines h, g on the striking-plate raise the latches a, b, thereby freeing the teeth a<1>, e<2> from the latch c, which is then rotated into the position shown by the dotted lines under the influence of the spring d in opposition to a buffer spring i, thereby securing the door. The latches a, b also drop into recesses at the rear of the inclines h, g, further securing the door. In case the door is not fully closed, the camsurface m of the striking-plate holds the latch c back until the teeth a<1>, e<2> engage the notches in the latch. In releasing the latch c, a tooth c<3> thereon engages a tooth b<2> on the latch b and raises it free of the recess behind the incline g, and the tooth c<1> raises the latch a free of the recess behind the incline h, thereby freeing the door. A hook f may be turned to engage a hook in the latch b and secure the device in the closed position.
