Abstract

15,945. Gr³ndler, A. Oct. 29, 1912, [Convention date]. Wet-separating; upward-current classifiers.- Aluminium silicates such as clay, loam, marl, &c. containing water and diluted to the desired density by the addition of water or heavier liquids, are used as the medium for separating substances of different specific gravities, particularly furnace residues. The apparatus preferably used comprises a conical vessel 1 having an inlet 5 for the separating-liquid, an outlet 3 for the liquid and lighter material, and openings in the bottom for the escape of the heavy material. Blades 13 of flattened S-shape tapering alternately towards the centre and circumference of the vessel 1 are slowly rotated under the surface of the liquid.
