Mechanical toys.-In an animal toy, a walking or jumping movement is transmitted to one pair of legs, the back legs in the form shown in Fig. 1, by mechanism located in the other pair of legs, which are fixed, and in the hollow body of the animal. The fixed front legs bare tubular and mounted on running rollers d to which rods c are eccentrically connected. The rods c operate levers g pivoted at h which carry the back legs of the toy. The levers g may form legs of a single U-shaped lever, in which case the toy proceeds with a jumping movement, or, the levers g may be separate and operated alternately by the rods c, the relative eccentricity of which is kept constant by mounting the front rollers d on an axle.
