Abstract

7837. Nendel, C. H. April 3. End handles; fixing by screwed sockets with toothed holding-devices. -Relates to tool-handles of the kind in which one or two nuts are arranged in the bore of the handle for fixing the tool therein. The front end b of the ferrule a is shaped to fit the cornered nut c, and the nut and ferrule are pressed simultaneously into the handleboring and over the handle-end respectively, the toothed rear edge d of the ferrule being then pressed into the material of the handle. The latter may be screwed on to the tool end with the aid of a wrench engaging the cornered part of the fitting.
