7706. Brissard, L. A. April 13,1912, [Convention date]. Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of ; parachutes ; framework; propelling; steering.-An aeroplane is fitted with two cylinders 4 each containing a propeller 3 driven by a motor 2 arranged about a transverse axis. The cylinders are arranged at each side of a rectangular rearwardly tapered fuselage 1 and beneath a fixed plane 14, with a tapering front part, adapted to exert a parachutic effect. Deep but transversely narrow planes 9 are disposed laterally and carry pedal-operated ailerons 10. An elevator 17 is operated from a wheel 19 and a rudder from a wheel 22 on the same axis as the wheel 19. Aerial machines adapted to travel also on land ; shock of landing, deadening.-The land-wheels are connected to the long runners 24 by a flexible plate 27 secured to the runner at one end by an electric ring 28.
