7237. Soc. Anon. des Etablissements Lacour-Berthiot. March 26, 1912, [Convention date]. Telescope systems. - In periscopes having a smaller and a larger tube, two condensers V<2>, V<3> are placed in the larger tube in such positions that the upper one is situated at the point where the most inclined rays from an object-glass C<2> in the smaller tube strike the sides of the larger tube and the condenser V<3> is placed at the point where the most inclined rays from an objectglass C<3> between the condensers meet the tube. A lens C<4> serves the purpose of making the most oblique ray impinging on it emerge parallel with the axis of the periscope so that the lower prism need not be silvered.
