Abstract

4914. Draper, A. F. Feb. 26. Folding seats combined with boxes.-A combined box and folding seat for vehicles comprises a casing with outer and inner end walls 7, 8 forming recesses into which the seat ends 20 are adapted to be folded when the hinged back 19 is turned down to close the casing, wide bars 23 being provided to protect the upholstery during folding. The back 19 is provided with an offset part 18 and a groove 28 into which the edge of the flap 24 fits when turned up. The seat frame may be lifted up, thus allowing the rods 33 and supports 32 to be pressed back by the springs 35, to support the seat in an elevated and tilted position. The box is provided with a door 10 having a fastening 13, and a fastening 48 engages with the ends 20 to hold them firmly in the open position.
