4893. Nettlefold, O. Feb. 26. Locking nuts.-A locking-nut C screws on a fine right or left handed thread a<2> formed on the edge of the main thread a<1> for the principal nut B. The threads are so proportioned that at least half a turn of the fine thread falls on each oonvolution of the main thread. The pitches of the two threads are not aliquot to each other; preferably one is a little more than two and a half times the other.
