5351. Norris, G. S. March 2. Locking nuts.-A locking-washer screwed on to a bolt above a nut has a division Z, and four projections A, B, C, D, arranged as shown, which in use engage three turns of the threads of the bolt. The projection C is a curved edge, and the other three are pointed. The projections A, C are bevelled on the upper side and the other two on the under sides. The washer is tilted by pressure against the nut and binds against the threads of the bolt.
