Locking nuts.-In a nut-lock of the kind in which a split sleeve E on a nut C is compressed against the bolt A by a conical recess D in the main nut B. a rib or enlargement F is formed around the middle of the split sleeve E, in order that the gripping - surface between the sleeve and the recess may be small to prevent the two nuts from binding together. In a modification, the sleeve E is externally coned and engages a rib F formed on the wall of the recess D.
