Abstract

3481. Phillips, G. A., and James, A. W. Feb. 11. Brackets, adjusting and securing.-Vertical uprights 2 of T or L section carry slidable brackets 1 also of T or L section, the brackets consisting of sheet-metal sides 12 riveted together and having wings 11 for supporting the shelves, and also pegs 10 in the flanges 14 which (nvelope the uprights 2, to engage holes 9 arranged vertically in the uprights. The brackets 1 are adjusted by tilting, as shown in Fig. 5, and then slid into their proper position, the pegs 10 being then replaced in the holes 9. The brackets 1 may have vertical flanges 19 to hold books in position. The brackets 1 may be arranged back to back on double T or L section uprights riveted together for additional shelving. The brackets may be notched to support rods or rails for use in shop windows instead of shelving.
