3313. Penkala, L. Feb. 14, 1912, [Convention date]. Composition fuel.-An agglutinant consists of a preparation containing gelose mixed with waste cellulose liquor, the gelose preparation being obtained by boiling vegetable matters such as seaweed or lichen islandicus in water or alkali. A pasty mixture of the material to be agglomerated and the agglutinant may be concentrated until slightly viscous and pressed while hot, sodium or potassium silicate and slaked lime for example being added or not to render the agglutinant insoluble; or a gelose coagulant may be added, a portion of the material being then preferably mixed with the gelose base and the remainder with the waste liquor and a coagulant such as iron sulphide, alum, or other sulphide or sulphate, the two mixtures being concentrated separately and combined at the moment of pressing. The waste liquor may be concentrated before use or replaced by the resinous liquor obtained by distilling the waste.
