Abstract

1144. Good, H. Jan. 15. Actuating.-Apparatus for mixing chemical with water in definite proportions comprises a double-chambered oscillating receiver D and a chemical reservoir A provided with a cock G, which is opened by the engagement of the receiver with a lever arm and is closed automatically by the lever arm, which swings idly when moved by the receiver in one direction. Water is delivered to the receiver D by a pipe F, and the receiver discharges into end compartments of a filter C. When the receiver D falls over, its upper part E<2> strikes a lever arm M pivoted on a member L which turns the plug of the valve G. A stop L<1> on the member L communicates the motion of the arm M to open the valve plug when the arm M swings in one direction. The valve is closed by the weight of the arm M and the movement of the arm in the other direction from the vertical is idle.
