Abstract

593. Marawske, E. March 16, 1912, [Convention date]. Tools.-A disk parting-tool for lathes and like machines is tapered away from the cutting- point, which is the thickest portion of the disk. The disk 2 has a piece cut out to form a cutting edge 3 the nose 1 of which is the thickest part of the disk as seen from Fig. 3. The cutter slopes off in the direction 1-4 as well as in the direction 1-3 so that binding does not occur. To reinforce a thin tool, collars 5 may be provided.
