[Addition to 2953/12, Class 12(iii), Lubricators and lubricating &c.] A c t u a t i n g. - T h e lubricating - valve f o r internal-combustion engines described in the parent Specification is provided with means whereby it c a n b e opened fully, to fill the crank-case for example, without disturbing its normal position. The valve consists of a rod a with a tapered groove, and is actuated by a Bowden wire b connected to the means controlling the f u e l supply. The wire b works against a spring c bearing on a washer a', which slides in a telescopic casing consisting of inner and outer sleeves d, e. A pin f engages a bayonet - slot i n t h e sleeve e to hold the parts normally in the position showrt. On turning the sleeve e, it can be withdrawn sufficiently to remove the rod a from the hole in which it works, allowing a free flow of oil. The Bowden wire b is adjusted, to counteract changes in the viscosity of the oil, by a wing-nut h, screwing on a tube i through which the wire passes.
