Abstract

21,757. Bates, E. T. Sept. 24. Facing-tiles; flooring-tiles.-Flexible tiles of rubber, linoleum, &c. are formed with interengaging re-entrant and correspondingly shaped portions having recesses 2 in abutting edges to receive tubular metal keys 3, which are provided with roughened outer faces 5. The keys may be bevelled at the lower edges and mav be provided with fillings of tile material, with or without nails for securing the keys to the backing. Two layers of tile material may be secured together by the keys, and the tile may be provided with a number of holes which are lined with the keys and allow dust to pass through.
