Abstract
20,988. Mare, F. de. Sept. 14. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid), Gases, treating electrically.-In an ozonegenerator, the electrodes are rotary, and their movement causes air to be discharged radially and to pass through a circular slot at the periphery of the electrodes across which the discharges take place. In one form, the electrodes consists of shells 1, Fig. 4, mounted on a shaft 4, and provided with one or more finely-toothed conducting-rings 10 from which the discharges emanate. The shells are provided with straight or curved fan blades 2 and with a central aperture 3 for the entry of air. A diaphragm 6 of mica, glass, or other insulating-material is arranged between the shells, and this diaphragm may be fixed, or may rotate with the shaft. Other toothed conducting-rings 11 may be disposed between the main shells, the rings being separated by diaphragms 6. In a modified apparatus, the toothed rings 32, Fig. 6, are stationary, and the air is passed between them by a fan 23, the blades of which are trapezoidal and carry at their periphery the insulating-diaphragm 27. This apparatus is mounted in a casing 13, and air is drawn in through the bottom, .which consists of perforated plates 15, 16 enclosing a layer of filtering-wadding 17. When very high potentials are used, the lower ring is divided into parts 33, 33<1>, Fig. 8, separated by insulating-pieces 34, and connected to the opposite poles of the generator.
