The journal balls d run on a spherical surface a<1> in the outer ring a and on an inner race c, which has on one or both its end faces a race for thrust balls f bearing on thrust rings e. The outer sides of the thrust rings are spherical, the curves being struck from the same centre as the surface a<1>, namely the centre of the ring of balls d. The thrust rings bear against spherical or conical surfaces b<1> on flanges b, B formed on the outer ring n. The flange B is removably and adjustably screwed into the ring a, and is locked by a screw g. The balls d may be replaced by barrel-shaped rollers running on outer and inner cylindrical surfaces; the curve of the rollers is struck from the same centre as the spherical surfaces on the thrust rings.
