Aerial machines with aerostats; planes, construction of; propelling; steering. - A dirigible balloon has a depending frame carrying a bow propeller d, stern propeller h, lifting-propeller m and lateral steering- propellers n, all of which are driven by separate motors. Guards ware provided to prevent the envelope from being damaged by broken propeller blades. Transversely curved planes p with fabric which may be rolled up are fitted, together with an elevator a and rudder e. Metal masks r are fixed at the ends of the balloon. The framing is made of steel tubes t and wire bracing x, and wheels f and skids s are attached. The balloon is made to soar by rotation of the bow and stern propellers in opposite directions.
