Abstract

14,623. Bose, D., and Faligant, R. June 28, 1911, [Convention date]. Compression engines; driving-gear; cylinders, mounting.-In a revolving-cylinder engine, open-ended cylinders are arranged in polygonal formation and are united by tapered filling- pieces x, the explosions acting upon oppositelymoving pistons which are connected together in pairs by bent rods c. Each opposite pair of pistons is secured to one of two arms d, which turn on a fixed shaft e, and actuate a crank i through a connecting-rod h and links f, g arranged as shown in Fig. 2. Compressed charges are admitted to the crank casing through the hollow shaft e and the engine may work on a two- or four-stroke cycle. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91(3)(a) states also that the engine may have four cylinders or any multiple of four; this statement does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
