Tread bands.-Adjustable attaching - wires b, are secured to the edges of a rubber tread band a by pairs of hinged metal plates p, k, which are made to grip the band by bolts v passing therethrough. The inner plates p and the heads of the bolts have projections which bed into the tyre.
