Abstract
20,049. Rushton, T. H. Sept. 5. Tread bands.-Relates to tread bands of the kind in which metal strips or plates are secured to a flexible metal band or bands, the whole being made into a hoop to fit around the tyre, and particularly to the tread band described in Specification 18,469/11. Metal tread plates A are secured to one or more flat metal bands B having one end slotted to pass the stud or studs which secure the end plate or plates on the other end of the band or bands, the ends of the band being drawn together around the tyre by a cramp or otherwise and secured together by bolts, pins, &c. F passing through eyes in the end tread plates. The slotted ends of the bands pass between the other ends of the band and washers C riveted on the studs.
