Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of; balancing.- The body 3 of an aeroplane is pivoted at its rear end to a rectangular frame A carrying the main planes, and the front end is movable vertically on guides 5, 6 and is supported by chains and ropes passing over pulleys M, M<1> and connected to a tension spring O having its end secured to the rear end of the frame A. The supporting-planes comprise a semicircular plane B, B<1> fixed to the frame, and laterallyextending planes G, G' which are pivoted about vertical axes H, H<1> so as to be movable forwards and rearwards to modify the relative positions of the centre of gravity and centre of pressure for balancing. The movements of the planes G, G<1> are controlled by the cords P, P<1> supporting the body 3, which are attached to levers N, N' secured to the inner end of the planes. The planes B, B<1>, G, G<1> are stayed by cords.
