Regulating.-Blow-off valves inserted in the outlet pipes of a turbine-driven centrifugal compressor, or throttle valves inserted in the inlet and outlet pipes of the same for the purpose of preventing surging, are positively connected to a spring-controlled piston, which is operated by steam taken from the nozzle chamber or other part of the driving-turbine where the pressure is proportional to the load.
