Pulley-blocks and pulley-tackle.-Pulley-blocks for the falls of ships' boats have the bottom blocks provided with guide-plates for the ropes running through them, and the lower blocks are also connected by a rope or the like, thus preventing the blocks from toppling over when being raised under their own weight. An alternative or additional method consists of weighting the block. The block a has a double guide-plate b through which passes the central cord of the block. Weights d are also provided inside the block above the eye e. In the form shown, the guides are provided with extensions, and the two tackles of one boat are joined together by a weighted cord f.
