[Cognate Applications, 13,273/12 and 24,169/12.] Bulkheads. - Zigzag, angled, or corrugated bulkheads d are stiffened at about one-third of their height by a doubling-strake or a plate or bar, or by overlapping the corrugated plates. The portions e of the bulkhead that extend into the wings may be flat, and flat portions may be formed at other parts where required. The corrugated plates may be secured to the decks &c. by lengths of bar f bent to conform to either convex or concave portions; or the plates may be flanged, and the flanges fastened to the decks &c., the flanges being formed by cutting the plates longitudinally at the angles and bending the edges towards one side or towards opposite sides alternately.
