10,423. Garnier, J. Corbeau-. May 2. Hoods.-The framing comprises three main hoop-sticks 1, 3, 5 pivoted upon the bracket 7 and held in extended position by hinged stays 8, 9, 15, to the joints of which further hoop-sticks 2, 4 may be connected. In order that the central hoopstick may become exactly superposed upon the others in the collapsed position, it is made telescopic, Fig. 2, and the upper part is connected by a rod 19 with the hinged stay 8, whereby this hoop-stick is elongated during collapsion. The hood may be used in varying degrees of extension by collapsing one or more of the several sections. The hoop-sticks 2 and 4, or the upper part of the central hoop-stick 3, may be dispensed with.
