9853. Seddens, C. April 25, 1911, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fec not paid). Sleepers and securing rails thereto; sleepers and parts, arrangements of. - Inverted boxshaped sleepers 10 filled with concrete receive rail clamps 15 which are secured by a wedge 19 having a bolt extension 20. For rail joints, Figs. 8 and 9, the sleeper 10 is recessed at one end for a plate 26 which receives rail clamps 29 mounted on pins 32 and secured by a wedge 31 having an extension pivoted at 33. The wedges 31 have sharpened ends 34 engaging recesses 35 in the sleeper to secure the plate 26.
