9273. Neufeldt, O., and Zurovec, W. April 20, 1911, [Convention date]. Baths. - The vertical driving-shaft and bearings of a tube pump are enclosed in a watertight tube containing oil. The pump a, which is preferably immersed, delivers water through an annular pipe to an outlet o. A central tube p enclosing the shaft and bearings m<1>, m<2> contain oil, and communicates with a chamber g containing water. The column of oil is balanced by a column of water in a pipe i, opening at the bottom of the chamber g. Water continuously leaks from the pump a into the chamber g, and flows out of a valve j at the head of the pipe i. To remove the oil, the valve j is closed, and the water pressure then forces the oil up the pipe p, and through an outlet k into a vessel l.
