Abstract

8926. Mote, H. April 16. [Cognate Application, 22,081/12.] Tyre attachments to rims; detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-A detachable rim comprises two flanged rings 7, 12 which are locked together, and to the fixed rim member 2, by a split-ring 25 arranged as shown in Fig. 1. The detachable rim may be removed by contracting the ring 25 after which the rim parts 7, 12 may be separated by expanding the ring. For additional security, tangs 15 (Fig. 6) may be fitted to the part 12, the tangs having keyhole slots to receive nuts 20 (Fig. 4) on screwed studs 19 carried by the rim part 7. Non-creeping blocks are fitted on the rim parts 7, 2. The ring 25 may be adjusted by means of an eccentric 35 on the cover-plate fixed to one end of the ring, an eccentric-pin 36 engaging a slot 37 in the other end of the ring. A spring-locking bolt 38 may be fitted as shown.
