Cutting-edges, treating.-In a machine, for grinding safety-razor blades, of the type in which the blade is brought in turn against each of two grinding-wheels, the blade-holder is carried by a rod slidably mounted in an oscillatory frame so as to be adjustable relatively to the grinding-wheels. The rod d, carrying the bladeholder, slides in blocks e mounted in a yoke b, which is adapted to be oscillated about pivots c by means of a cam 15 which actuates arms 13 carried by the blocks. At the end of the rod is a fork f, the limbs of which are slotted to receive the blade-holder. This holder comprises two members h hinged together at one end and retained closed by a nut k at the other end, the holder being kept in position by pins n on a spring-pressed frame o. In order to adjust the position of the blade, the rod is screwed and provided with a nut v, a spring w pressing the nut against the block e. The blade may be held away from the grinding-wheels 17 by means of a spring-plunger 10 adapted to drop into a hole in the rod. Any number of rods may be mounted in one frame and a cam may be used in place of the adjusting-nut and spring.
