Abstract

28,734. Efflinger, R., Krenek, J., and Lechner, R. Dec. 20. Overlap joints with outer pipe or sleeve gripping by elasticity of material and with valves.-A rubber pipe connexion for gas-supply pipes or taps has a valve which automatically closes or opens when the connexion is broken or made. In one form, Fig. 1, a pipe b, attached to a tap a, contains a spring-pressed ball valve c, the stem of which is linked to an elbow g carrying a roller h. The rubber pipe i normally holds the ball away from its seating, on to which it is pressed, as in Fig. 2, when the pipe i is removed. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the valve is pressed from its seating by the abutment of the coupled member l on a wire loop k which forms an extension of the valve spindle. Alternatively, a valve-actuating rod may be formed upon the coupled member. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 2050/64 and 1632/71.
