Abstract

27,878. Bickford, E. J. Feb. 9, [Convention date]. Spring surfaces.-In a spring seat in which curved spring plates 7 are employed, a bar 8 is rigidly secured to the ends of the springs and is provided with sockets for separate link members 11 connecting the springs to the frame 9. A bar or member 10 on the frame also carries separate sockets for the corresponding parts of the links. When one spring plate only is used for a seat, sofa, &c. for more than one person, it is slotted transversely and connected to the frame by more than one link. For a seat for a single person, a spring plate hinged to the seat frame along one edge and connected by a link to the frame along the other edge may be employed.
