Weft-replenishing mechanism.-A weft-feeler 18, Figs. 1 and 2, is pressed forwards along a stand 19 by a spring 23, and is normally pressed backwards by the weft on a bobbin 15, thereby preventing the engagement of an adjustable contact-piece 32 on the feeler with a lug 31 on a spring-controlled dog 27 pivoted on the lay. When substantial weft-exhaustion occurs, the lug 31 engages the contact-piece 32, and the dog 27 is thereby rocked sufficiently to enable it, when the lay continues to advance, to engage and actuate an arm 36 on the controller rock-shaft.. A change in the working of the loom, such as stoppage, automatic weftreplenishment, or both, is then brought about. An arrangement of controller and associated parts is mentioned as being described in Specification 23,372/08. When the lay beats up with the shuttle absent from the shuttle box, the dog 27 is rocked by the contact-piece 32 to such an extent that the acting end of the dog passes entirely above the notched end of the arm 36, so that the arm is not actuated.
