26,323. Aichele, A. Dec. 23, 1910, [Convention date]. Gear-wheels, grinding and trueing teeth of.- Relates to the grinding of gear-wheels &c., after manufacture, by mutual abrasion. The invention consists in the separate driving at the proper speeds of the axles c, d upon which are mounted the wheels a, b to be ground. As shown, this is effected by friction gearing e, f, g, h, but bands or toothed wheels may be used. One of the axles is caused to move to and fro longitudinally, and the distance between the two axles is caused to diminish during grinding. The ratio of transmission of the driving- gear may be made smaller or greater than that of the wheels to be ground for the purpose of enabling the one or the other side of the teeth to be ground in ; or the angular position of the wheels in relation to the driving-gear may be varied.
