Sleepers integral with chairs; chairs with fixed jaws; rail sections.-Metal sleepers have a web 2 with a recess 4 at each end comprising a convex wall 5, a concave wall 6, and a notch 9 receiving the rail head. The rails used have no outer base flange, but a projection 13 engaged by a key 14 entering a recess 8 in the sleeper. The rails are inserted as shown in Fig. 4.
