Abstract

24,445. Nichols, A. P. Nov. 3. Resistances.-A resistance for heating water consists of coils 19 situated in ducts 8 in a cylinder 5 of porcelain or other insulating-material through which the water passes. The ducts are joined alternately at the top and bottom by grooves closed by washers 16 and plates 15 joined by long bolts, and the coils 19 are joined by wires passing through the grooves.
