23,923. Carlstedt, J. H. Oct. 28. Locking sliding latches; locks, revolving- barrel. - The latch construction described in Specification 15,185/11 is provided with locking- mechanism. A gravity-bolt 12, adapted to rest on the top of the latch-bolt 9 when this is in the latching position, falls into a notch 13 therein and secures the bolt when the follower 8 is turned to shoot the bolt further. The gravity-bolt is actuated by means of an arm 18 on a disk 17, which is operable by a key and is normally locked by a gravity tumbler 19, projections 20 on which co-operate with notches 21 in the disk. The key is provided with a bevelled end which engages an inclined projection 24 on the tumbler and raises the tumbler when it is pushed into the keyhole. The aperture in the disk into which the key enters is peculiarly shaped to suit its particular key. Picking, preventing.-The keyhole preferably has projecting ribs adapted to enter grooves in the key stem.
