Abstract

Pressure-regulating valves; shocks, preventing; actuating. - A piston-actuated pressureregulating or other valve, of the type provided with an auxiliary valve, has a cushioning-device loosely fitted to the main valve and arranged on the discharge side of the valve above the actuating-means. The main valve 16 is guided by a spindle 26 moving in a sleeve 27 secured to the casing by a nut 29, and is fitted with a plate 21 in the line of flow to assist the closing of the valve. The actuating-piston 19, which has a spindle 20 adapted to bear on the plate 21, moves in a liner 17 screwed to the casing, and is secured by means of a pin - and - slot connexion to the cushioning - piston 23. The auxiliary valve 35, constructed as described in Specification 16,898/12, controls the admission of fluid pressure from the screened inlet passage 34 to the passage 41 leading to the space between the pistons.
