Abstract

22,755. Bingham, C. Oct. 16. Alloys.-Ferro-silicon is prepared by the reduction of silica bricks which have been used as a lining for steel furnaces and have absorbed a suitable quantity of iron. The reduction is carried out in any suitable type of furnace, and the bricks are preferably broken up before being fed into it.
