Cabin and deck lights; ports; bulkhead doors.- In order that cabin and deck lights &c. may be closed in a watertight manner without bending the hinged part, fastenings are provided comprising a clamp having its inner end bearing on the frame at a point immediately over the point of contact. A clamp d is pivoted to the fixed frame a by the pin e, and bears on the hinged frame b at the point f over the packing c. A pivoted eyebolt g passing through a splayed hole in the clamp d is provided with a screw j by which the whole may be secured. In modified forms, the end e of the clamp merely rests on the frame a, or is loosely held by a bolt. The compression member j may consist of a nut or a pivoted cam. A further form is described in which the clamp is pivoted centrally and the outer end is raised by a thumb-screw.
