Abstract

Angular bending.-In an apparatus for bending metal tubes of circular, square, oval, D or other section or channel or angle or circular strip metal, by a roller on a pivoted arm moving round a roller carried by the pivot, the supporting-mandrel is mounted on a branch arm so that its position intermediate the two rollers is maintained throughout the bending operation. The sweep arm b carries at right-angles thereto an arm a on the upstanding part a' of which is mounted by nuts the rod e carrying the mandrel e<1>. The rollers c, d and also the arm a may be adjustable to suit differentsized rollers and tubes and the upstanding part a<1> may be adjustable on the arm. The whole apparatus also may be adjusted by a screw g. Two sets of rollers moved towards each other by a right and left handed screw may be provided. The roller d is driven from the shaft h by a sliding worm i and worm wheel i' and the drive may be disengaged by the arm a or part carried thereby on completion of the bending operation.
