Abstract

21,162. Waithman, C. H. Sept. 25. Window holders for sliding sashes; vehicle windows. - In vehiclewindow holders consisting of teeth on the upper ends of the sash stiles engaging with racks on the frame, the. teeth 12 and racks 13 are held in engagement by strips 5 pressed against the sash 1 by springs 6, one end of each spring being fixed and the other end slotted to engage studs 9. The strips are secured at one end 7 in the door well and their other end work in slots 8. To exclude dust, the lower rail of the sash is formed with a thickened portion 14 to fit tightly against the frame at 15, and with taper projections 16 to fit against padded projections 17 on the frame; strips may also be secured to the sides of the window frame to protect the springs 6 and racks 13 from the weather.
