Abstract

20,204. Poulson, A., and Poulson's Foundry Specialties. Sept. 12. Mould and core materials.-Spent sand is renovated by the addition of a mixture of sulphate of alumina and chloride of sodium or magnesium, &c. The sulphate of alumina is ground up with water, and the chloride is added subsequently. Suitable proportions are stated to be 3 lbs. of sulphate of alumina, 2 lbs. of water, 3 lbs. of magnesium chloride, and 3 lbs. of sodium chloride. 3¢ to 5 tons of the mixture will renovate 100 tons of sand.
